I believe you that the car is fast but I have seen a kid in the next town over spend thousands of his parents dollars to have a 400whp sti only to have the drivetrain fail in about 150 miles.

My guess is the kid is a retard.  Those cars are fully capable of holding down 400+whp, as long as you're not a jackass with it.  You can't just go dumping the clutch at 4500rpms all the time on those cars.

A friend of mine had an 05 Sti with minor mods (turbo back 3" catless exhaust, intake, and a reflash).  It turned a 12.7 and even he'll admit he's not that great of a driver.  The point is that he drove it for a couple years like that without drivetrain issues, because he's not an asshat.

+1

I drove my '03 at Cobb Stage 2 for almost 3 years with zero issues. A buddy of mine drove his '06 Cobb Stage 2 for less than a year before shredding gears. Everytime I see him out he's racing people and driving his rex hard. Now he's selling it b/c his parents (bought it for him) are pissed. lol

i talked to different people that know the owner and its not a 9 second subie the guy that owns it has upgraded the turbo and some other things and is pushing like 437whp but yet he is such a horrible drive he can only run low 13s. and i found out the owner is a prick

actually i have gone over 120mph possibly over 130mph because i pegged out my speedo at 130 and it was still pulling.  but in a stock civic you could have hit 123mph but it took a very long time because on a 4 mile road in my stock ex i hit 125 but it took about 2 1/2 of the miles to get there lol
