Default OUCH

Sooo today was my first day at the strip with my new nitrous sytem.... all went well, had to do my first run without nitrous due to not having plumbers tape to screw the tank in but after that everything went awesome.... shaved off 2 seconds of my 1/8. mile time

anyway on the last run i did ther was this big pop! didnt seems to bad cuz it drove fine off the track but when i opened my hood the intake had popped off and the filter seemed a little fat... anyway no biggy

so i drove home fine, and i decided to just hit the nitrous a bit on this long industrial strip by my house cuz thers never any cops, its going good just hit it in second from 4k rpms... but when i let off this time i switched off the nitrous and ther was an even bigger pop, more like a boom!.. so i pull to the side and my intake is popped off, my radiator overflow coolant is boiling and the filter is puffed out completely with some of the metal peices on the filter popped off and my idling is really bad.... got it home barely but the car seems like it wants to die when im stopped.... any idea what it is?? cant really look at the engine tonight cuz its dark out but ill take picks tommorrow..

i know it's not good. if i were you, i'd either not use it, or use a smaller shot.

its not the shot that im using.... its how im letting off the gas im sure, cuz the first couple runs it was fine, just that last one i pushed it a little too hard to the end..... and then let oiff really quick so i could take the first exit, and on the street i just let off at redline on second... my mistake not the nitous hehe

yeah, don't just let off, because with all of that air and fuel that was dumped in there, it will backfire and cause a bang if you're not careful.

that won't affect anything. are you throwing a cel? and you don't have to shift, just don't throw the clutch in, all you do is just steadily release the throttle.

is your coolant in proper working order. and are you running hot? the thermastat can affect the idling. and check your throttle cable for any slack. i fixed mine today cause it was feeling kinda loose.
