Yea, the XBL^2 technology cost to much to liscense from RE, so they killed the first complete line of subs and redesigned them.  Probably made RE happy, they were selling a $300 sub that was almost identical to the XXX

Could try a new HDC3, almost identical to a DD9500, at $250.  I plan on running 4 :).  Of course it is probally at least 2 months before you can even get one.

you were right about the rear deck in your other post. it's the plastic that covers the speakers above the rear seats.

It that or its the phucking thin ass metal under it. I mean you can take the plastic cover off yourself and pound the metal deck with your fist and it vibrates more and makes more noise than carmen electras happy toy.

Well in my 88 hatch it was the actual trunk latch that did the rattling so i wrapped the hook on the hatch that holds it down with duct tape and now theres no more rattling. It rattled so bad that I could be idling at a stop light and it would do it ferociously. But now its a thing of the past, no matter how loud my bass goes....

This might help you get a good idea of how to place your sub in your trunk... hope this helps. http://www.crutchfield.com/S-WZGTqfQPI8G/tech/kb332.html
