6 disc changer Q?
I have a stock tape player in my 98 LX 4dr. I want to keep the stock and add a 6 disc (or 10, whatever) in the trunk. Ive seen changers that are FM modular. I think this means you tune in to a preset channel, which is on the same freq. as a signal from the changer. Does this sound correct? Does the sound suck ass?
Has any one tried this set up? I wouldn't mine wiring a regular (wired) changer from the trunk to the stock tape player. Any suggestions on a good changer? Does it simply wire into a stock deck? Has any one tried this set up? Thanks T |
RE: 6 disc changer Q?
If you can find a used honda changer I think it will work right with the stock deck. I, being a wishful thinker tried fitting a non-honda changer do the stock deck...didn't work...

an FM Modulator is only as good as your radio is. It wont be CD quality, either get a cd changer compaitble tape deck or live with the sound... thats about it unfortunatly.

thanks
I found a direct factory compatible Apline disc changer on Crutchfield.com for $220. I will most likely get it. T |
RE: 6 disc changer Q?
I used an alpine 6 disc with my stock player with no problems.

RE: 6 disc changer Q?
FM taps are a REALLY bad idea unless you plan on only driving within a 15 miles radius..

RE: 6 disc changer Q?
Yep i would also recommend a cd changer compaitble tape deck. I have a sony tape player with a 12 disc changer and it work perfectly.
