Default new exhaust, less HP?

I just took off the fart can that I purchased the car with and replaced it with custom 2.5" piping and muffler.

Before I put it on I could chirp second, I tried to do it today with the new exhaust and no dice. Did the new exhaust effect my torque that much? or I just need to add the I/H to my E?

any info would help, I got some money to spend I just want to know what to spend it on.

Normally 2.25 is good for mild engine work like i/h/e. If you are running a lot of nitrous then you might get away with 2.5 or if you are turbocharged then 3 is good. I think a lot of ppl with built n/a d series still run 2.25

Forty said his Megan Drift Spec which is 2.5" worked perfect for both N/A and F/I, i know i lost a little bit of torque with my 2.25" piping, i used to be able to chirp into 2nd and now i cant at all, it kinda sucks [&:]but top end feels good

Probably just moved the torque curve- that may be why you can't chirp it (not that that is a great indicator of performance gains).

G-tech said I gained 7hp with my 2.5" when I was NA, but the margin of error there is probably pretty high. I did gain 3 tenths with just the additionof the cat-back though.
