dont build a d if your gonna spend money  atleast do a b16 swap for like 2k. because i have built a d16y8 with skunk 2 cam, valve train, i/m, ecu, port and polish and i/h/e and had it tuned and i spent like 3k and was only running mid 15s. d series tranny doesnt have enough umph to get it up and going

i know but i was actually about 2 weeks away from ordering my pistons, rods, crank, and my turbo set up but i blew it up so i said screw it and took that $6000 and put my b18c5 in and now im running high 13s low 14s. so i think you should get a b16sir2 and a wet 75 shot and you will be running pretty close to 14.20s

If I'm gonna do a swap I think I might as well just sell this bad boy and get something better I was thinking maybe a 2000 SI to build off. Does that give you a good stock motor to build off of. Im not too framiliar with what engine comes with what car. But when I have been surfing the web it seems like those are one of the types of civics that have a good amount of mods for.

The 2000 civic si has the usdm b16a2 engine in it the same engine at least american equivalent engine of the jdm b16a.  So if you can find one of those for cheap or at least cheaper than the swap would cost you, go for it there are plenty of mods and you can make very decent power out of it.

doesn't stock run in the 17's, and you spent $3000 only to go faster by a little over a second? lol

he has a 7th gen civic, b seires, h series, and d16 are out of the question. the only swap he can do is a k series, which is expensive. i have a d17, i was looking at nitrous, tell me how it goes. You might consider a turbo if you have the money.
