Default type r engine?

I was just curious, but a guy I used to work with that had a integra gsr, said that a guy who worked at the honda dealership told him that the type r honda engine was so fine tuned that you were better off leaving it stock and not modifying it. Is this true?

no, its not really true. yes it is definately the best factory tuned engine in the price bracket, but it also gives some outrageous power with some aftermarket cams and bolt-ons. now an S2000 is an engine that makes so much power stock, that its hard to get much more out of it without a radical forced induction system. but if your buddy has the money, he couold get an ITR head, a mugen gasket, and put that on his GSR, and basically have a type r motor.
