Hailchristian 08-12-2007, 12:59 AM std 4spd....watch out...lol s2000gtx 08-12-2007, 05:35 AM both my civic are manual so i drive manual and my parents care is auto so i drive tht too. by the way u shoulds really specify what u mean for example" is ur civic manual or auto"...... becasue if u can drive can drive amanual u can drive auto.. Wuv3 08-12-2007, 12:35 PM I dirve manual. It just seems better to drive manual over automatic. I learned how to drive using an automatic civic and i hated it soo bad. nothing against people who like automatic. It's only good for traffic situations, which happens everyday here in south cali. KoshaK 08-12-2007, 12:49 PM manual, more exciting to drive Fiirkan 08-12-2007, 01:07 PM http://www.hondacivicforum.com/m_413795/tm.htm reaper2022 08-12-2007, 03:13 PM Hey, I'm the only auto driver so far in this poll :)... but I have a good reason... it's my sister's old car, so I got it pretty cheap... I'd hate to see her drive stick... she'd be getting a new clutch every other week. Anyway, I'm either swapping to an H22A with a 5-speed (if I don't get a crotch rocket) or I'm swapping the transmission on my D16Z6 to a 5-speed (If I get the crotch rocket), so I won't be stuck with a comatose civic for long (hopefully). addiction2bass 08-12-2007, 03:50 PM well im the 2nd auto ;) BUT if thier was a WISH i had tranny thread.... then i can preaty much garente all would be manuals. LMFAO i wish i bought a manual BUT o well......... thiers always a posibility of a 2nd civic for the future ;) but i already got 4vehicles myself.LOL burgernuds 08-12-2007, 04:52 PM auto - my family banned driving manuels after my uncle crashed his car into our home years ago. noshowallgo 08-12-2007, 07:52 PM its harder to burn rubber with auto plus manual feels like your actualy driving the car. jeff948594 08-13-2007, 09:59 AM my teg is an auto but my civic is stick i see the stick as a theft deterent because i had a guy break into my civic (the only time i forgot to arm the alarm of course) and hot wire it but i found it about 12 feet down the road. so my guess was he kept stalling it out and decided to go find a diff car so a little solder and some electric tape and good as new ej6buddy 08-13-2007, 11:11 AM i like playing with my stick addiction2bass 08-13-2007, 01:30 PM ORIGINAL: jeff948594 my teg is an auto but my civic is stick i see the stick as a theft deterent because i had a guy break into my civic (the only time i forgot to arm the alarm of course) and hot wire it but i found it about 12 feet down the road. so my guess was he kept stalling it out and decided to go find a diff car so a little solder and some electric tape and good as new well i wouldnt cal a manual a theft deterant..... at least i wouldnt.... cause think of it... ya take off the Ebrake handle and simply pop the gears in neutral and ANYONE can move it around.... not sure if it has a steering wheel lock or not..... BUT at least a auto will lock in park... s2000gtx 08-13-2007, 01:44 PM ORIGINAL: addiction2bass ORIGINAL: jeff948594 my teg is an auto but my civic is stick i see the stick as a theft deterent because i had a guy break into my civic (the only time i forgot to arm the alarm of course) and hot wire it but i found it about 12 feet down the road. so my guess was he kept stalling it out and decided to go find a diff car so a little solder and some electric tape and good as new well i wouldnt cal a manual a theft deterant..... at least i wouldnt.... cause think of it... ya take off the Ebrake handle and simply pop the gears in neutral and ANYONE can move it around.... not sure if it has a steering wheel lock or not..... BUT at least a auto will lock in park... best way to put this is if someone really really wants ur car there nothing u can do to stop them. unless u have an pitbull dog in ur car as a watch dog lol. but really if somone really wanted ur car they will find someways to get into it and steal it. Your best bet isto take the proper precautionsto help prevent theft or to make stealing ur car a pain in the assfor example having an good car alarm with all the proper sensor ( tilt, dual sensor, rim lock, kill switch, ect.) Have one of those steering wheel lock thingies that most woman have on there cars. Also I herd having Ur window tinted is good too since it prevent people that are just walking around from seeing in your car addiction2bass 08-13-2007, 01:50 PM ya ive always agreed with that... thiers always a way. which is why i have tons of pictures of my car and also full coverage insurance ;) its the only way to be secure! reaper2022 08-13-2007, 05:25 PM ORIGINAL: s2000gtx Your best bet isto take the proper precautionsto help prevent theft or to make stealing ur car a pain in the assfor example having an good car alarm with all the proper sensor ( tilt, dual sensor, rim lock, kill switch, ect.) BUT at least a auto will lock in park... not true, my teg has a place u can put anything that resembles the key and it will release the car from but yes both have steering lock but if you can catch it before it locks u can defeat it with anything flat and resonably solid (like a fridge magnet) thats why i always lock my steering on top of have alarms **Alan** 08-13-2007, 10:30 PM same here ...i lock my steering wheel and put my club facing the left corner of the seat and with an alarm on top of that .....but im gonna get the brake lock thing and put it on my clutch petal alpeffers 08-13-2007, 10:51 PM i am mastering my stick everyday... and with lots of people around me watching me do so... and when i'm done, i have a very satisfied feeling come over me, and all the problems just go away... then i hit 5th gear... ohhhh..... i don't know what people do when driving autos... appart from scratching themselves... that_guy5 08-14-2007, 04:59 AM well i drive an auto 2 but the only thing that scares when driving a manual is goin up hills since i hardly never drive a manual but dam i hope that never happens to me. has it happend to u guys?? and actually hit someone? addiction2bass 08-14-2007, 05:59 AM ORIGINAL: **Alan** same here ...i lock my steering wheel and put my club facing the left corner of the seat and with an alarm on top of that .....but im gonna get the brake lock thing and put it on my clutch petal just to let you know.... CLUBS are JOKES!!!!!! the steering wheels are so soft all the theft has to do is have a little saw and cut thu the steering wheel! those things just dont work.LOL **Alan** 08-14-2007, 02:38 PM eh? true .....thats why i have the brake lock on my clutch ....the only way you can move the car is if you push it and the alarm will be going off lol alpeffers 08-14-2007, 04:26 PM do you mean hill starts, or just generally driving up a hill... cause hill starts are SUPPOSED to be done likea this... 1 put the foot on the break. 2 put the car in neutral (assuming you know how to manipulate clutch). 3 engage hand break (parking break to others, or E-Break). 4 put the car in gear with either of the two breaks still applied (preferably hand/park/E-break as you'll need it later). 5 bring your rpms up, and slowly let out the clutch. 6 once you can feel that the clutch has taken (nose dips, or jumps up depends how much gas your applying for the steepliness of the hill) release all breaks and off ya go. round about way of doing it... i could look it up in my driver's manual, but i'm lazy. but most people just let the car roll back a little before the clutch bites, there is a slight chance you'll hit the person behind you (as they'll assume you arn't driving stick) but its their fault for stopping too close to you [8D] but driving up a hill, is done just like in an auto... you go up, yer foot goes down a lil... if the hill is steep enough, or if you just wanna go up the hill fast, you downshift and zoom up the hill. reaper2022 08-14-2007, 04:45 PM ORIGINAL: jeff948594 ORIGINAL: addiction2bass BUT at least a auto will lock in park... not true, my teg has a place u can put anything that resembles the key and it will release the car from but yes both have steering lock but if you can catch it before it locks u can defeat it with anything flat and resonably solid (like a fridge magnet) thats why i always lock my steering on top of have alarms Ithink he meant that the front wheels lock up when the car is in park. EDIT: wow.. that was a lot of quoteslol addiction2bass 08-14-2007, 04:58 PM LOL ya either way look at a tow truck ;) they got wheel jacks with wheels on them. they just put them around the wheels use the foot pedal to lift the tires off the ground and now they can spin your car on a dime! lol but anyways ya stoping on a incline i always did that Ebrake and clutch... cause i ALWAYS had these retards pull right up to my bumper!!!!! i was about ready to have a sticker made...
