RE: Honda civic turbo question

Are you sure it's a 1.5 not a 1.6? If anything I'd assume it's a d16y7

RE: Honda civic turbo question

what model Civic does he have? EX? DX? If its DX/LX/HX/CX, its D16y7. 16 = 1.6L, SOHC, non-VTEC. If its EX, D16y8, 1.6L, SOHC w/ VTEC.

RE: Honda civic turbo question

ok well i know i dont know much about FI but i do know that your friend needs to do some research and he should do it, not you. tell him to get on HCF and there are plenty of people that would be willing to help. Also, if you use the search function on this site, you can find some useful stuff on FI

RE: Honda civic turbo question

your friend is definately not ready for boost if he doesnt know what engine he has..

to answer your questions

1.) d16y7, And they dont make a civic with a dohc non v-tec, but they do make an integra without vtec thats dohc, its the LS and a b18
2.) turbo kits always take some custom modification, your intercooler piping will almost always need to be cut to make it fit correctly, and you will need an exhaust manifold that will fit your dseries motor, so yea, all d series manifolds fit if its a d16, i dont know about the d15's
3.) you need engine management (p28 chipped ecu tuned), bigger injectors, gauges, a new clutch, and a whole bunch of other stuff

have fun and do more research please
