yea i want too know if i can wire 2 amps together, 1 a 1000 watt amp and the other a 600 watt.there both kenwood and will be pushin 2 12s, kicker comps vrs(comin in the mail)
wich i think will be a good power supply for em. and how do you guys think the comps vr are. thanks
im not a master installer but when i have wired up two amps that are that strong i have done the following:
Run a 4 or even better 0 gauge power cable to the tunrk. Then get one of those distribution blocks that you can have multiple power leads come off of and be clean. Then run a 4 gauge power cable to each amp. Ground each amp seperatley and make sure your grounds are very good and the shorter the cable the better.
Other than that everything is the same just now you have two amps to deal with.

i think he wants to run the signal together to both subs so that its basically one amp, not just hook then both up at the same time. ive seen it done, but i have no idea how
You cannot combine multiple amps to one speaker (unless you have a dual voice coil sub, then you could connect one amp to each coil but the amps have to be identical).
Connect each amp only directly to one speaker and then use a RCA Y cable to split the signal going into the amps. Typically head units have "left" and "right" subwoofer outputs but I think it will be the same signal so you pull them apart and run one to each amp and don't need a Y adapter then.
you can hook 2 amps together it's called strapping .... not all amps can be strapped though...check with kenwood to find out for sure.
if your 1000 watt amp is a true 1000 watts i'd just use that one... escpecillay if it's a common chamber box ..it'll be plenty for 2 cvr's.... and it's better to use a common ground
so you have less of a chance of creating a ground loop...... when you have resistance between 2 componets you can create engine whine...

no its not a true 1000, just a max 1000. the true wattage is only about 250x2 rms at 2 ohm. and those subs are 400 rms each. so if you want to push those subs all the way, you are gonna need a bigger amp. plus i personally hate kenwood. used to havethe exact one you are looking atand it always overheated and shut off with the gain up only at about half way\
and civicduty thanks again man, cant wait to see what kind of random modules they make.
