problem with recently painted car - 9/19/2007 1:52:38 AM    ic892003 Posts: 2121 Joined: 7/21/2006 Status: offline as most of you know i painted my car about 3-4 months ago...... one day my car was a little dirty and before iwas going to wash it a friend of mine wrote clean me on the hood with his fingers... as u can write on a dusty car... for some reason that "clean me" stayed in my paint for a few days and i kept washing it but it wouldnt come out....i got it out by waxing it and it eventually came out.... another one of my friends not knowing this would happen wrote something on my rear bumper.... now this wont go away either... im curious to know why this is?? i dont know to much about paint so im starting to think the paint guy took me for my money and didnt complete a step... i would appreciate feedback, lol please keep all jokes to urself, i know its pretty funny but its starting to piss me off _____________________________ Post #: 1

Talk to the painter, in dark colour application, I will use HS (High solid) clear coat. 3 coats and wet sanding using 2000 grid, then polish it with high speed orbital polisher and the last step is to use a W9000 foam pad to remove the swirl marks and you WILL not have the above problems again.... _____________________________ 2005 JDM JAZZ Spoon Sports.... RE: problem with recently painted car - 9/20/2007 6:46:44 PM    imachechya   Posts: 38 Joined: 9/15/2007 Status: offline when your friends are writing on your car with their finger they are just scratching your paint. you notice the scratches because your car is dark. all you have to do is a) keep your car free of dust the best you can, b) get a few good coats of wax on there, and c) tell your friends to keep their grubby hands off your ride.
