The following is what the cars are:
1998 civic Ex coupe (mine)
USDM GSR swap
Dc sports header
PIT exhaust
AEM short ram intake

97 Integra LS (competition)
JDM GSR swap
LS tranny with quaif LSD
skunk2 IM
Short ram intake
Not sure what exhaust
no name header

So it goes like this, I am leaving town when I see my friend chase at the postal office so he follows me out of town, we get to the end of my road he tells me he wants to race to see how our cars hold against each other, well I was kind of reluctant so I told him I would but I didnt want to do it here or with my sister in the car.So I took her home and dropped her off. Well my friend just moved here from Virginia so he does not know the area very well.
Well I lead us out to an area that has no traffic. So from there we cruise down the road and make sure there are no potholes or anything, we get to the end of the raod and both turn around. so we line up and we decide that were not going above 90 and that he we will go on the third honk of his car. So I take it to 4k and on the 3rd beep I let out the clutch I immediatly start smoking the tires so I let off real fast then getting on it immidiately allowing him to jump ahead, I wrap 1st out slam it into second get to caught up in trying to catch him that i take it to high and shift to late I finally slammed it into third and listen to the motor breathe a sigh of relief, take it up to about 4k and realize its no hope he already won. So we line up for a second time, we launch this time i take it up to 3k get a little bit of slippage but it grabs and goes I pull on him for a bit then have to shift in 2nd I look over to realize he has longer gears I get up to pulling him back in like a fish being caught but then I have to shift into 3rd and god damn I miss a gear, he immidiately gets 3-4 lengths ahead of me. We decide to do one more everything went well the launch was good no slip the shifting was good and I had him by a bumper til he shifted to third and which he immediately jumped about a length ahead of me, after that I let off realizing he just walked me. So in the end it shows that even with the weight difference his slight better power and taller gears and the fact that he is a better driver at racing takes the win home. Oh well maybe next time.

I think his Quaife tranny played a pretty big part. He also might be a better driver imo.

about two weeks ago i was doing a valve agustment my freind that has a type r showed up. (he has a jdm b18c5 w/ fully built inturals) after i got done we went for a test drive and he decideds he wants to follow and try to mess with me. (i have a stock usdm gsr swap) i finaly give in and we do one run from a 50mph drop. at first it was pretty even the when we both hit third i pulled ahead by 5 feet and then from that point on he started to pull on me. i think that if you practiced lonching and shifing a few times you could tack him!!!!!

I was thinking about something... Do you think you could shift better and faster if your knee didn't bother you so much?

you should have beat him into the ground, with the ls trans he is dropping below his power range plus he weighs more

Man after that I bet your tranny and clutch is tired.  Work on your shiftin and whatnot and it would be a good race.  Get a camera up next time

Clutch is brand new, the tranny and motor only have 100k on them. I forgot to add its a spec stage 1 clutch. But he had an aftermarket clutch as well ACT if I remember right.

And I dont think my knee bothering me would ahve to much of effect on my shifting, its possible but usually I just ignore the pain when I am driving
