I have decent knowledge in getting it all bumpin, but i'm looking for some good advice on what would be the BEST way to hook up 4 12's. Anything from guage of wire, which type of fuses, ohms, etc.

First off, I'll explain what all I have to start off with.

Kicker CompVR 05 12" (4)
2 ohm, 2 voicecoils
400 watts RMS/ 800 peak

Amp: ( I'm thinking a 3000 watt monoblock amp would be just right)
Right now I have come to choose that the Quantum Audio 3000 watt amp would work

I have a 4.0 Farad Power Acoustic Cap (Evenutally, i'm going to get a battery)

If anyone could help me out or give me any installation suggestions or product suggestions that would be great.

first off wire the voice coils of each sub in series so that each sub is running at 4 ohm overall.
then wire all 4 subs in parallel (meaning that all positives and negatives share the same terminal on the amp).
this will put the overall load to 1 ohm, which is the most efficient, and matches perfect for that amp.

use about 12 gauge speaker wire, and a 0/1 gauge power wire. don't get a cheap power wire cuz they won't be a true 0/1 gauge wire.

Quick question, would you use the battery to replace the cap? Just weird that you mention it like that -- even the quickest decharging gel batteries will be nowhere near as fast as a capacitor, and the last thing you want to do is have too little juice when one of those subs sucks a thousand watts on a deep note. Bye-bye sub, get the battery, keep the cap. IMO. That is if you were implying replacing the nice exepnsive cap with a much less expensive gel battery.

What kinda system you trying to build. Just curious. Spl!!!!.. I wonder what you would hit ..... You should dymat you inside man. It will sound better i think. Im all about the sound deadning materials.... But as far as your stuff your hooking up deff teh way sig said it will give you low resistance for ultiumate performance of your audio equipment... As far as cap if you spend the money for a good cap your all set but if you got a cheap one i would just go with battery....

With the battery, i would still put the cap on it, i just see it being beneficial to my car.

As for the sound deading materials... i have a lot. From dynamat, to towels up in my trunk lid, to acoustic studio recording foam, i got that dept. covered. suggestions so far sound good, but if anyone else has any thing else to comment on.. i will be greatly appreciated.

well for2 12"JLs i have in my suburban i briged the 2 to one amp so i think you should go that way and get 2 amps. and insted of spending a bunch of $$ on an amp you should get 2 torque1500 watts2channel it doesnt sound like a whole lot of watts but trust me they can handle em. and there like 300 an amp or even less

i dont think your civic can handle all of that i suggest 2 12" Kicker L7'sz with a ZX series amplifier with is a CLASS D amplifier which is the best amplifiers for bass....and for cable guages go with 0/1 guage and try to buy realiable cables so that you wont get extra noise(static) and also so it can go till its full potential.
