well after reading another post it said A200 means the lower DX models.... and a B200 code ment EX/SI

after reading that post and looking at my tranny in my 94ex its a A..... so must mean tranny was replaced with a cheaper model....

whats actualy stronger with the EX/SI 5speed tranys?
is it realy worth swaping out for a EX.SI tranny? the kid said him and some buddies rebuilt the tranny about a year ago so i have no idea if they used the guts from a EX into a DX tranny or not.... cars been thru 5owners and 200K miles no way to track them all down.LOL

Not that it is stronger, it's that 2nd, 3rd, and 4th gear are alot shorter meaning more acceleration per the same amount of power.

Well another difference between the EX/Si and the others is that the EX/Si (B000) has large bearing compared to the small bearings that the other models have.

I would say, if you can find an 92-95 EX/Si get it and sell yours.

OR.... ...Better yet... ...if you can find an EX/Si (SOHC only) trans from a 96-00 civic get that one.

you say smaller bearings......... is that something i should worry about? cause i bought the axle seals and axle for a 94 EX.....
i hope thiers not a difference thier!!!!! id hate to be leaking fluid! thats why ive spent like about 2-300bucks in just seals...LOL


but ok i get what ya mean by the larger gears.... i guess i shoulda bought the tranny from the motor guy...... but he got on my dam nerves! so ill gladly spend more and buy elsewere for more.LOL
only problem about buying a trans is i definatly want to have it rebuilt before i drop it in... i HATE grinding gears!
but i guess o well........ no big deal realy.... im not REALY..... gonna be racing this car. just more of a fun car.... i guess ill teach some of my friends how to drive stick with the car and then have a reason to replace that trans.LOL should be aWHOLE lot easier to remove and instal just the tranny.LOL but ill leave the tranny swap on the back shelf till i have problems with it...


but anyways ya say a 96-00 manuals are the same? axles as well? i guess that would make it easier to find a trans from such a wide year range!
