had a blast yesterday. first rallyx event, pretty much first time driving my friends wrx, first time really off roading, was soo sweet. learned a hell of a lot and whiping the subie around on the dirt/mud was awesome. first gear gates suck when downshifting, abs can be good but also very bad, turbo lag is lame, running into 1+ foot high dirt burms is freakin awesome! im surprised that front bumper is still on[:-]we had a total of 6 runs, 3 runs in the morning, 3 runs in the afternoon. ran the course in the morning and then ran the course reverse in the afternoon.
pics
my friends car is the blue wrx wagon. beforeour runs.
friends car after. the way a subie should look, dirty
this L fliped, yes fliped lol. was going to fast, hit some ruts(dug in by all the cars digging into the dirt on the same line) and fliped it once. luckily no one was really hurt. i think the driver was just shoken up and the passenger had a cut on his arm from the passenger side window breaking. pretty sure the cars totaled..
vids. cant really see outside but w/e, u can atleast get an idea of how bumpy it is lol.
wow, i bet that is a lot more fun in person than the vids can describe...good job.

how many cars were there total? what kind of venue was it? how often do they do them in your region?
glad you had fun! [8D]

there some similarities i suppose but there is deffenitly alot more steering involved. what i found kind of cool about my friends wrx is that the driving characteristics on dirt are similar to my car on pavement. in his car, whenthe back endstarted getting very loose, just get on the throttle and u'll save it. my car has quite a bit of oversteer on some quick turns so the when the back end swings out, get on the throttle and it straightens out with no problem.

i believe 33 drivers, maybe like 20 cars or so. it was held at Summit Point Raceway on part of one of their massive dirt fields. havnt been to any other rally events but this seems to be a great spot. they have use of a big water truck to spray the entire course down and also a big tractor to groom the course when needed. they also had an ambulance there the entire day ready to go. when the car fliped, it was out on the course quickly and took the 2 ppl back to the main motorsport park formanditory medicalattention. and i cant forget the very attractive umbrella girls that hung out with us
looks like they hold about 7-8 events every year. theres 1 more event in November but theres alsoan autox the same day which ill prolly end up doing...
ill get more into it next year fo sho
