1. All Si's have VTEC engines in them.

2. Any year is a good year for an SI[sm=smiley2.gif]

3. HP is around 170 at the flywheel

I don't think there was a USDM Si made in 98. 99 or 00 is what you want...;)

i have a 99 ex with the 99 si engine swap.....its to me the best looking civic and the engine runs smooth.....the best engine for modification reasons i think....

RE: civic si question

just for clarity, the si didnt have vtec until 92. also, only the 99-00 SIs have the dohc vtec(USDM)and its 160hp at the flywheel, the jdm motors have slightly higher compression and they have the 170hp. the 92-95 si only has 125hp sohc vtec, but its still a good platform to build with.

RE: civic si question

the 92 and up EXs came with vtec and had comparable performance to the 92-95 SIs, but none of the sohc vtecs can hang with the dohc vtec in the 99-00 si.

P.S. the 92-95 also offered a VX hatchback which was equipped with vtec-e which is designed for fuel efficiency not for power, it actually has less power than the non-vtec in the dx

The 99-00 is my favorite, im not into the new Si. I hear they are bringing back the SI coupe in the next couple years.[sm=smiley4.gif]
