Default D16y5 build!!!

I have a 97 civic hx with the d16y5 motor . I want to do somethinga little off the beaten pathand build upa d series motor.I'm thinking of doing a d16y8 swap. I'm going to be using the car as a daily driver/weekend track car. Basically I just want a fun car for a little cash. I'm looking to get between300-350hp if possible.I have about $3000.00 to $3500.00 to spend on parts to build up the motor and possibly turbo it. So my question to you guys is what parts wouldI need to accomplish my goal?Is the d16y8 a direct replacement for th d16y5 or will I need the y8 ecu, and harness? Any help would be much appreciated!
