1991 Honda Civic hatchback
 

Im new so bare with me. Looking at a 91 civic hatchback with 169000 miles on it. no leaks or anything like that. minor rust on rear wheel wells. 5 speed too. The guy is asking 1400 obo. Is this a good deal? hes got a few hondas for sale. thanks

Couple things you can check for..if it has a 4 speed of 5 speed transmission...that usually is a good thing to check for...or if its a DX, SI, STD...cause if you wanna do a swap with it..those things can save you time and money.....i have a 88 std..which is the base model...no AC, manual 4 speed...72 hp with the same milage as your looking at ..and i paid $1800 for it and I think that was a fair price..but know that I know it was the lowest model of civic, i probably would have looked for an SI or DX...so i would recomond getting it if its one of those 2 but if its a STD or HF tranny..its gunna be slow unless you swap engine and tranny..

I got my 91 SI for 600$, but the clutch needed to be change, apart from that, the usual oil burning..

its gotta new clutch, good tread on tires and seems to have zero oil leaks. 5 speed too. is that good? thanks

is it a clear title and everything? Interior/exterior in good shape? Does the guy have maintenance records?

If the answer to all 3 of those is yes then go ahead and get after it. Even if it's a dx it's still a decent deal.
