I've been slowly working on converting my brakes to disc over the last month or so.
I'm upgrading the fronts too.
Fronts: Brembo slotted rotors with Bendix pads.
Rears: Brembo drilled rotors with Bendix pads.
Here's a pic of a pad in the front next to the new pads.

Update:
I have switched to the impact gun, cause I need to. The driver's is coming out real nice. Just one more 3 more bolts on that side, two of which are holding on the e-brake cable, so only 1 hard one left. Now for the passenger's side I have 4 more bolts, two again for the e-brake, 1 for the trailing arm bushing and another stupid arm one.
Stupid control arm bolt:
http://i106.photobucket.com/albums/m272/civic93pearlwhite/DSC01876.jpg
The only reason I only got this far was because I started late tonight and had to stop because of the noise. Neighbors suck when you have to get things done.

why does one of ur control arms look bent like crazy?
danomatic93
10-15-2007, 07:36 PM
lol, that's actually how the LH (driver's side) one is. I think it prevents the LCA from hitting the gas fill tube. I thought it was broken too at first.

Update:
I got the Driver's Side drum trailing arm off and the disc TA on. The trick to the "stupid control arm bolt" was to heat it with map gas (or propane) and spray it with PB blaster, then use the impact to get it off.
I have to attach run the e-brake cable into the cabin and tighten all the bolts on that side.

The passenger's side is still being a little girl, so I'll have to tackle her tomorrow.
I really hate having only 2-3 hours every other day to work on this. But thanks to my Grandma, whom is letting me borrow her Ford Taurus for the time being, I can still get to and from work (aka school (UWM))

Did you put stock lca's on?
danomatic93
10-15-2007, 10:55 PM
Yes, I put the stock LCA's back on because I couldn't find ES bushings for the aftermarket ones I had. So, those are for sale, eventually.

Yes, but I'm not buying brand new LCAs just for the freakin' bushings! I haven't found a place that sells replacement bushings for aftermarket LCAs. The stock ones don't fit in the aftermarkets.

Hey danomatic, looks like it's going pretty smooth, loving the looks of it! I have a question for you, since you seem to be in the know. I just bought a rear disc conversion off of a 95 integra (at least that's what I was told) but it's all pretty rusty (trailing arms, discs, calipers, etc.) and I was just wondering how you can tell if you need to rebuild or replace your calipers? Send me a PM if you can help me out, thanks a lot, sorry to jack your thread...

Don't worry about thread jacking. I'd rather have someone stumble across this thread and get all the info they need here instead of searching for hours for one stupid answer.
So, to check the caliper:
Remove the two bolts in back of the caliper to remove the caliper from the caliper bracket.
See that the two bracket rods (part of the caliper bracket) are lubricated. (pull and let go) They almost always dry. Lube them.
Remove the pads from the caliper.
If the dust boot that goes from the caliper's piston to the caliper itself is still intact, without cracks, then the caliper is probably okay.
I'm going to upload a video of a quick "how-to"
Check back in about 10 minutes.
StifflersMom
10-16-2007, 01:40 PM
and if the little rubber dust cover is broken...well the replacement procedure will definitly remind you of trying to put a certain rubber product on for the first time ever...in the dark....without ever seeing it before:))) It's just a metaphore, but it took me friggin 40 minutes to figure it out...

Okay, the links will be broken until the videos are fully uploaded, but here are the links:
Well, it started off 2 years ago becaues I thought it looked cool. After doing some searching I found that it'll help with braking, slightly. Then I saw I needed to replace the trailing arm bushings and the LCA bushings too. Plus, I needed to replace the rear brakes and found the most of my parts for cheap.
So.... ...I've found that the more you know about cars, the more you'll end up fixing. It's a blessing... ...and a curse.

haha cool, as long as you aren't expecting big differences in performance. The stock brakes can lock up all four tires, in which case no matter how big your rotors are, you aren't stopping any faster. The main performance increase is in fade...but i understand wanting to make it look cool:D

Well, I got it done on Friday but I've been a tad busy and finally got some pictures today...
I didn't replace the P-valve to the 4040 tegi p-valve, yet. I wanted to see if there was a noticable difference between the two.
Thus far, I don't feel much of a difference between the drums and disc brakes. And I attribute any differences to having all rebuilt calipers and new pads.

hey danomatic.
i know this is a little off topic but where did you get that SOHC VTEC sticker.
i've been looking every where for a pair of these and every website either seems shady, or doesnt have SOHC, or doesnt look right
danomatic93
10-21-2007, 06:26 PM
I designed it and got a sign shop to make two for me.
Here's the image that you can give to most any good vinyl/sign shop.
http://i106.photobucket.com/albums/m272/civic93pearlwhite/SOHC.jpg
For the dimensions, VTEC is the same height as the trim piece. SOHC is half that height. For the length, SOHC VTEC added together should be a little shy of the length of the trim piece.
If you can't find a shop locally I can get them made for you but the guy I get stuff from isn't cheap.
