y8 IM onto a A6 head?

Can a y8 IM be put on an A6 head? A local guy has been bugging me about it and I have no idea.

And how has everyone been?

It should fit. However, if the y8 mani is from a 99-00 you'll have to weld shut the Air Assist ports
