Default Detailing

I was at a family party today and the subject of cars came up inevitably. I didn't bring it up and don't really like to brag about my car or anything, for that matter. Apparently word has gotten around the family and their close friends that I'm a "car guy" now even though all I've done is install LEDs, headlights, and cathodes in a few cars. I have at least three guarenteed offers for car details that would net me quite a bit of cash, but I've never detailed a car before. I imagine that a few good first jobs will net me more based on word of mouth too.

Like I've said, I'm not an expert but I do have patience, a sense of detail, and a good business sense . I am fine with washing a car and waxing it, but aside from that and basic interior cleaning/polishing I'm not the best. Detailing involves a lot of things from what I've heard and read but do any of you have advice or experience? My uncle offered to buy whatever supplies I need so I just want to make sure I get the things that will be helpful.

Thanks! That second link is real good. I'm feeling more confident about this now and I think I'm going to go ahead and do it.

I'm just outside of Pittsburgh.

What stuff do you recommend? I am totally lost in a sea of potential buys.
