I'm just warning you... you are probably going to get lots of haze for sporting the sonys, lol anyway depending on how you wire it up you can go with a mono amp (my preference) or you can bridge a 2 channel (if bridgeable) you should look at the RMS rating on the woofers and add those together and get that size amp.

They are like 300rms per sub or something like that but I'd only feed them 150 to 200rms per sub because sony does not sell the best products on the market. I'd say they are single 4ohm subs and if so try to find any JBL 300 watt rmsat 2 ohmsmono class d amp. Put them in a med. sized sealed box if you want any chance of them sounding like much more than a wet fart.

depending on how much you wanna spend, would depend on what amp you would use. I would personally buy a 2 channel amp with an output rating of around 200 - 250 watts per channel. My advise would also be not to skimp on the amp and buy a middle of the range one, that way when you need to upgrade your subs (which you will, sony tend to fall apart after a while) you will not need another amp, and you can go for some subs which are a bit more meaty than the sony's.

plus 1 on not skimping on the amp. Your amp is probably your most important purchase if you plan on having subs for a while. Even crap subs will push (at leat temporarily) on a good amp.

Sony subs are an awesome start, as are pioneer, JVC, Kenwood, etc.. but I would look forward to upgrading them in the future if you want to sport some awesome bass.

Check out sonic electronix online, I buy a lot of stuff from them now, they haven't screwed me once. They have good prices, and you can at least read some reviews some other people have posted about amps. When it comes down to a purchase, i take reviews seriously. They will make or break my sale.

I have a pair of JL W3 10's and I love them. They want 300 RMS each, so a 600 watt amp that pushes 300 each at 2ohms would be perfect. Thats my ideal setup for a budget. I am still getting mixed emotions on the Alpine subs. Infinity Kappa series subs are supposed to be fairly decent, at least from hearsay.

maybe if you can toss us a spending limit we could fix ya up with some options.

If we knew how much you wanted to spend it would be easier, I dont know what gear you guys have over there but here in the UK one of the top budget audio brands is Fli. Fli do some very very awesome kit at a very good price! Also if your on a tight budget, active rather than passive subs can be a good place to start out, you save space in your boot, you dont have to worry about where to put your amp, you can literally stick the box in, wire up and off you go! But then your upgradability goes out the window... but yeh, all food for thought!
