Review: First off this piece looks very good. It really helps dress up the engine bay. After that I must admit since this is my first import and the first time ever installing a torque dampener of any kind I was very skeptical as to just what kind of performance I would get out of this simple to install piece. However I was quickly made a believer once I finished the install which consisted of removing to of the nuts from the driver side strut tower and connecting the upper bracket then removing the two engine mount nuts on the driver side and attaching the lower bracket. Once the brackets are in place you simply bolt the dampener to the two brackets using all the included hardware and then adjust the dampener to your specific liking. It comes factory preset but you can tweek it if you want for more track or street performance.

Once installed I took the car for a spin where I focused on hole shots coming off the line from dead stops as well as lane changes where I really got on the car. Prior to installation the torque in the engine would pull the steering wheel to the left from a dead start and I would also get some wheel spin on the stock tires. After intallation the steering whell no longer pulls to the left and the difference in take off is very noticeable. I can actually feel the suspension load up more and the front end lift up as the rear of the car squats more which I could not notice as much in the past. This also happens to a lesser degree when I really get on it to change lanes or while already cruising down the road.

I am very impressed with the piece and the difference it has made in how the car feels and handles under those situations. For such a simple little part I like it.

Torque dampener on a D17 sounds unnecessary... great write up though!
