I have a 89 civic dx hatch and i just installed a new sound system but the reception is horrible. what's the best way to improve this and about how much do you think it would cost? and is it an easy install?

It sounds like the center connector for antenna open up and not making contact with center conection to radio. SLap a antenna on for quick check.

Do you mean the connection to the head unit or the signal for the radio details please [sm=smiley24.gif]

Default RE: reception issues

I had the same problem when i took out my OEM deck and put in an aftermarket deck. With the OEM deck, I got reception on all my favorite radio stations without pulling out the antenna (I hate pulling it out). On the aftermarket deck, I have to pull it out to get the decent reception.

I haven't fixed this problem and also would like to know if I can do anything about it. Personally, I think the reason is because the aftermarket deck is producing more interference from the amplifier in the deck.

one time my CD player was busted on my after market deck and i put the OEM one back in. the reception on the radio was crystal clear. I got a new deck and put it in.. reception sucked. I don't think the leads are the problem.
