Default Holes?

i was just brain stormin for a sec and i have a 1995 civic hatch si, im planning to do nitrous and a few more bolt ons(i/h/e, i/m) and i was wonderin, could i get a custom exhaust at 2 1/2' but woth a stock tip? i know it would greatly reduce flow so could i drill holes all around the tip ( after the muffler of course) to keep the high flow of a 2 1/2' exhaust?

just go to your local auto parts or hardware store and buy the precut plain exhaust tips. nothing chrome or stainless steel and just use that. When i had my exhaust fabbed i just left the pipe at the bumper with no fancy slash cut or anything like that. the 2.25" exhaust tip will not look too big, only to trained eyes. i hardly even notice, The guys i work with didn't notice until I told them about it. using flashy tips is what normally gives it away, not plain jane steel pipe.

BTW cutting holes in the stock tip will do you no good and might end up whistling on you, plus rust will only haunt you that much quicker.

It won't do you a bit of good because the outlet of the muffler (to the tip) it still restrictive. And a swiss cheese muffler tip doesn't look like stock anyway

If you're serious about this, the thing to do is make a custom short exhaust with 2.5" pipe, a couple of small inline mufflers, and a turndown before the gas tank. Then leave your stock muffler hanging there not attached to anything.
