Your a little mixed up, you need everything that you have plus the remote wire. The RCA cables are the ones that have 2 plugs on each end and plug into your deck and amp. The remote wire is the wire coming out the back of your deck to a spot on your amp, and that turns the amp on and off when your deck goes on and off. There are lots of good wiring diagrams on the net.

Yeah there should be a blue "remote" wire on the deck's harness...that get connected to the amp so it comes on when the deck is power up. The amps ground should be as close to the amp as you can get it.

Sometimes your RCA's have a little center mounted wire connected to them, its like 18 gauge, it runs in the middle of the 2 RCA leads. That can be used as a remote wire, just connect 1 end to the amp's remote, the other to the cd players remote lead, or the light blue lead. Sometimes there will be 2, 1 for the antenna 1 for remote.

If you don't have that little wire you will need to just pick up some at an auto store, or car stereo place. You should be able to get 20-30 feet for 3 or 4 dollars.

Maybe thats why that guy told you you had everything, if you have the 2 in 1 RCA's with the remote built in.

i have the ground right underneth my subs pretty much i picked up the remote wire yesterday. is there an easier way to get to my head unit other than taking apart pretty much all the dash? i didnt feel like taking apart everything cuz its getting cold. my cousins friend told me i can hook the remote up by sticking one side into where the power wire goes and the other into the remote wire? is that ok to do? i hooked it up that way and my one sub was crackling a bit and the other didnt do anything...are they blown? is it cuz its cold and they havent been used in awhile? can anyone help me on that one?

IF you hook it up like that, the amp will always be on...the whole purpose of the remote wire is for it to only turn the amp on when you turn on teh stereo...the way your friend told you it will probably drain your battery...if left on for a while.

I would check the speaker wires inside the box to make sure that are hooked up properly.

Yeah, if you are up for unplugging it everytime then you'll be fine.
