Default Porting a Box

Ok lemme say this first.......i DO know what i am doing with my car audio system. Please do not leave feedback for this question unless you actually know what u are talking about... DCACIVIC FRIQU i will be looking for a responce from you two. I am running an Infinity VQ Kappa Perfect in a sealed box, it is run off of a Rockford Fosgate BD1000.1 (class d) amplifier. The sub is VERY clear, but i want it to be louder. Can i go ahead and port this box with say a 2 or 2.5 inch port? Or am i goin to lose too much quality? I have never ported a sealed box before, but have built bandpass boxes in the past. I figure since the sub sounds so clear as it is, i could probably port it......gain more bass.......yet still have a decently clear sound. What do u guys suggest?

Never been a fan of bandpass... i normally prefer sealed because they can duke out spls at higher levels. I dont know what the box looks like either. could you give me dimensions and cubic feet? Oh... I applaud you for the class d amp. Some peopl think any damn amp will do.

ooo lemme show you something. Alot of people thing a fugging pipe wil do the trick. Check this out.http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showd...number=260-713. 2 of those bad boys on each bottom, back side should do the trick. If you were going for the traditional id stick with NO MORE than 2 inches in any bottom back corner, or under the driver on either side. Its all about playing with it. Youll eventually learn and it shouldnt take you long since ive been watching your responses on audio.... you do know about a thing or 2
