Heh I heard about the episode of Seinfeld when Kramer does this, but I haven't seen it :(  As for my schedule, I graduated high school early, I have very flexible jobs, my fiance left me to live with her sisters in Texas (I live in WI... so, after her, girlfriends aren't really what I'm worried about), and I'm moving back to England next year for med school.  So! A: If there's a time to expiriment with my sleep schedule, it's now, and B: If I plan on being a cardiothoracic surgeon (as I plan) I'm going to have to figure out how to make sleep as effecient as possible.  I'll definitely keep everyone posted though, hopefully it ends well :)

It's a good idea in theory I've just never really seen it work in practise. I think that type of sleep work good for the mind, but it just doesn't seem to do much for the body. The few times I've inadvertantly tried this (during long LAN sessions so I can keep playing, or just because I didn't wanna sleep) my mind was always working fine but my body just got groggy and couldn't keep up. My body is usualy what needs the 6-8 hours of rest more than my mind does.

See for me it's the opposite, I rarely get physically tired, just mainly mental exhaustion.  I just hope it works :)  Tonight is attempt 2 at starting the night off correctly.  I'll take my first nap at 10:30-10:50 and my core sleep will be 2-4 again.

Well I went to take my nap at 10:30 and slept through my alarm (which was my phone, some how it turned off... I think I did it) and slept until 3.  I decided to just stay up and take another nap at 9 or so.  Right now I'm feelin' OK, I think the hardest part is going to be adapting to this, but once I do I have a feeling it won't be that bad.
