bought my car..it was slow


reaserched...wanted a b16...sounded lame..


found information the ZC found one on craigslist for 300

October - December
bought it....got every part i needed

upgraded the tranny to a 5 speed. New clutch/ flywheel

everythings going good...

had some stuck bolts, took care of them..

broken bolts..took care of them

dropped the engine in/ re wired...doesnt start
took it to the mechaninc....timing gear has to many teeth on it

March

finally hunted down the right gear...waiting for the mechanic to do his magic

I don't get it .....

Is there something missing with the Motor?!

or maybe I am trying to put much thought into this ....

Sweet, finally started the motor swap? What did you end up doing with the valve cover?

I never got a chance to paint it...but i will probably go with the flat black and yellow stripes or gun metal....we will just see how the swap goes.

its the little things that can hold that sucker firm.LOL

simple green and a pressure washer works great!!!!

i wish i could pull a motor out in 2 minutes.

i like how that one dude helped, but everyone else just stood around and watched.

lol..yeah that was my dad..my gf came out periodicly and my friends came over when i was working at night but they just went inside and played halo.

alright..well i did my de-pinning pin swap wire extension mpfi wiring today..and had enough time to drop in the engine.....

so its in....

i dont have any pictures right now caue my gf has the camera..and i have it on film...but no fire wire cable to do my time lapse...but it is in

i hope to getting running tommorow....

well my civic is at the mechanic..some place my dad found....

my normal mechaninc went out of business...which sux because he was really good on older civics like mine..he had a crx and he liked to work on like 1st gen civics.....and he was affordable...


the place my car is at...i dont know.. i feel like all my money is going to them...and im gunna end up right where i was when i took it to them....which sux balls becaues the money i am going to pay them could be going towards another zc or somthing....

im probably looking at atleast 300-400 in labor from them regaurdless of if it starts or not..i gave them a bunch of information on the zc cause they knew nothing about it...which sux and one of the guys was freeking out because its not a smog legal swap....

im kinda bummed right now....i figured my engine would just start and i would drive away....and.....it didn't and its gay...and im pissed.....

live and learn i guess.

my mechanic found out that the lower crank gear is the wrong one...it has a 19 tooth gear and i need to get a 17 tooth gear that fits on there....FTS!

im sure no one reads this...but i just want somewhere to type!.....



17 tooth gear came in the mail today..maybe ill have her up by the weekend...probably not:eek:

does that suck when you think you have every part then go to put it all together and nothing fits or is the wrong sized part even though it looked right?

^^^^the worst!...but, i went into this swap not knowning how an engine really worked...i bought the engine in like 8 pieces. reasembled it all, put the rocker arms in bla bla bla so i learned a lot..and now i understand that dohc crank = 1/2 teeth of Cam....so its a learning experience...i just want my civic back!...
