Your valve cover will get warm, but not really HOT... plenty of people just paint it with regular spray paint and it holds up fine. _____________________________ Driving takes 3 abilities: Accelerating+braking+turning. RE: Cleaning valve cover - 1/9/2008 3:29:35 PM    addiction2bass Posts: 7489 Joined: 6/21/2006 Status: offline ya SIMPLE GREEN FTW...... or paint remover if it has any paint on it.. that stuff kicks @ss... tho i would recomend cleaning the inside to just for the hell of it ;) also new valve cover seal as well as puting a dab of sealer around the cam lobes to prevent oil leaks. also if you want to  polish the raised lettering..... polish it first and then CHAP STICK on the raised lettering and after its all dry simply use your finger nail to flake off the paint on the raised lettering to show that polished lettering... LOOKS GREAT!!!!!!!! and the chap stick trick worked great for me! just put it on with a cotten swap or something so you can do it very precise. _____________________________ (in reply to Mj96civic) Post #: 20
