header finish

how much does the finish of a header affect performance, there is chrome (bling bling) ceramic etc. It would seem ceramic would be cooler, but that is not neccessarily a factor, what are the factors? every header is gonna breath better than stock, i guess weight is an issue too. So what finish is on yalls header?

RE: header finish

i prefer ceramic. it doesnt rust as easily from the outside. also it helps to keep the heat in where it belongs.

The chrome looks good but heat will turn it purple after a while.

RE: header finish

could always go with stainless and use header wrap. not sure but IMO ss and header wrap should be lighter than mild steel and ceramic coating.
