im with you on this one I have a 1999 JDM b16 tranny looking to mate it with a crvB20. I dont see why it wouldnt work, they are the same engine just diffrent stroke and bore. I think it's just that you will be reving the b20 like the b16, wich would be crazy people say... I guess just do the speed limit and you will be okay??

Well the B16 will work just fine but you will rev like mad on the highway. The worst I have seen is 4800 rpm at around 100 kph. Not fun. THe gsr would be the best option as it has shorter gearing then the LS but longer then the B16. But yes, you can use an LS trans, it will bolt right up. And its not thaaaat bad, its shorter then the D16Z6 gears if you know what they are like.
