Default RE: Clutch

clutches are a friction disc similar to a brake disc. the first time they are used they lose their ability to transmit torq. when you need to replac a clutch component you will notic a possible senario. One is that your cars rpm will increase while you feel the car move less. (less acceleration) this means that your disc is slipping, their are several possibilities to this. Second is a large and violent shaking to the front and back of the car. THis means you have "HOT" spots and you are abusing your clutch, this is generally in the presure plate or flywheel. their are other reasons to replace a cluth. it may not seem reasonable but good practice.

There are two bearings in a clutch assembly, the Through out bearing and the release bearing, get both of the bearings replace!!!! Its a good idea the you spend the few extra bucks to save another days labor for a bearing. Make shur that they replace the through out bearing. It is all the way in the back of the assembly and is only a few bucks, do it!!!
