how much hp gain from turbo?

ok I have a 2000 integra ls, 140 hp stock. I am getting a Rev Hard stage II turbo kit... it says, and I quote, "Horsepower gains are usually in the 120hp range and gains for torque are about 285 ft/lbs" How much of this power is to the wheels?

you are gonna have to get the kit tuned so your motor doesnt blow and the dyno your tuning on will tell you how much hp you have.

No.

You can say it either when you put that power down on the dyno or have track proof that backs up the power.

before you go buying this kit... what exactly are you looking for? a t3/t40e is a pretty big turbo that CAN push you up to 450whp but if you are looking for nothing but a 300whp street ride than you need a diff turbo. the lag in that thing will kill you on the street and course!

RE: how much hp gain from turbo?

your 140 stock is to the crank... basically its the power the motor makes by itself. Wheel horsepower is the power that actually makes it to the ground after the loss of power from the drivetrain. FWD cars lose less than RWD cars since there is less distance the power must travel and there is no driveshaft... the average loss for a FWD car is about 12%, RWD is closer to 15%. So for a rough guess take the horsepower rating at the crank and subtract 12% from that. That is a good guess of your whp.

the 120 they are estimating is most likely at the crank so your car stock with that kit running in optimal conditions like they say will put down close to 260hp, 12% of 260 is 31. 260 minus 31 will put you at 229whp. This is an estimate and there are far too many factors to make a true guess but this will give you a round about number. Things like boost levels, altitude, fuel tuning, etc will factor in... tuning and airflow is the key to forced induction.

well ive done searching on this forum and other integra forums and everyone says that t3/t4 turbos are the best for integras..... I plan on using this on the street only... no not illegal drag racing in the streets but you know like when you and your friend are driving somewhere and he pulls up next to you and you race up to a lil over the speed limit and what not.. that kinda thing... what turbo kit do you recommend then?

also I'm thinking about just investing a lot in this car over the next few years and making it as nice as possible..... so thats also why I would want the t3/t4 because in the long run im going to want A LOT of power
