Yeah I was wondering the same exact thing, and I think if you paint it a color like red the insurance will rise, but i have no idea by how much.

black will also? i thought it was just red....

BUT IMO dont do a cheap color change! cause if you think those scratches are a PITA eye soar then think about "every" time you get in your car you see the door jams different colors, trunk jams, engine bay, gas cap door....
in short dont cheap out on a color change! if your going with cheap paint job stick with the same color! at least you shouldnt be able to notice any shade differences to much...

From what Ihaveseen,Maaco does some crappy work! They have the lowest price on paint jobs because their paint only lasts a few months then it starts chipping. Plus they don't even take off the door handles or anything. They just tape everything up and paint around. I have found that they don't do a very thorough job. So, be careful!

well they make their own paint so its not a perfect match or that high of quality paint.
the main thing is their prep work is very minimal.
but think about it.... 200-300dollar paint job compared to another body shop thats gonna charge ya over 1K bucks.... which do you think is going to do the poor job?

As a correction to my last post on here, your insurance will not rise, atleast with statefarm. I went in today and they said color doesnt decide a price. However, it makes sence that red and flashy colors do get the attention of people, including police, and are more likely to get caught speeding.
