Will this work?
Hi Guys,
I need your feedback on an idea. Today I pulled a set of rear brake assemblies off an Integra. I am swapping out the drums on my Civic EX. I pulled everything apart to inspect the parts for damage and I came across a big problem. As you can see in the picture a flange bolt was damaged, and the threads it would go into are also damaged. The upper arm bracket was also bent, I hammered it back into place, and it's strait again. My thought is to drill out the bad threads and make it a through hole. Then put a bolt through it and use a nut as a fastener to replace the damaged portion. I'll have to find a bolt long enough to do this, and make sure it's the proper steel grade for the job. I want your opinions, do you think my idea will be sufficient to hold things together? If you have any suggestions I'd appreciate it. Thanks for your help.
