Default Need a Hi Output Alt????

Getting ready to put Pioneer Premier headunit, dvd player, two screens in the headrest, premier 500 watt amp, and two premier 12 ALCC subs. I plan on running a 4 gauge wire system to a stinger 1.2 farad cap. I'm still running honda's stock alternator, but did come across a 170 alternator; is upgrading the alt something that I need to do or will the cap be enough to handle all the power request?

You are only running 1 amp? If so the alternator will not be needed

yes, one amp; approx 500 - 600 watts. so the cap will be enough for the system? what about the dvd player and screens? do i connect them to the battery or the cap?

and have the amp, dvd, and screens running off the cap; or just have the cap holding the amp and running the dvd system off the battery?

if your worry'd about power consumption agood thing might be an ammeter/voltmeter. if you use any of your equipment when engine is off, you will know when you need to shut down or start your car. no alternator or power cap does that.

not planning on running anything when the engine is off, but after awhile of running the stereo system I don't want the amp to start cutting out again or sounding like mush like when they were in my truck.
