they sell 110 octane here at a local auto part's store. they call it c10. anyway i'm sure it is unleaded. we have run it in my partners cr125 dirtbike and it smoked the tire down when you barely touch the throttle. i'm gonna buy a few gallons when i go to the track try it out in the hb see what happens. never seen c10 at a pump tho, that must be nice.

in the uk every station has 95 unleaded, 98Superunleaded and at shell garages its 99'Optimax' and then thers this wierd dark coulourd one that says DIESEL...No idea wot thats for...
ahh, now i understand. you guys use the research octane numbers, and we use the R+M/2 octane, which is about 4-5% lower than the research number, so its closer than it seems.

Beating a Hemi Ram is nothing to brag about. It's a truck which weighs around 2,000 more lbs than a Civic.....

actually, i think its even more of a difference than that. but it also has almost 3X the torque of the swapped civic. not to mention the 150 more hp.

Civic VTEC - 11.925 lbs per HP (est)
Ram HEMI - 13.620 lbs per HP

Civic has a 1.695 lbs per HP advantage (est)

i got 13.33 for the ram, which brings the advantage down to about 1.4 pounds per hp, then you figure the torque/weight ratios.

civic-2385 lbs (which is probably a bit light, but we'll stick with this number)
Ram Hemi-4600 lbs

civic-134 lb-ft at best
Hemi-375 lb ft

civic-17.798
Hemi-12.266

thats a 5.532 pounds per pound foot difference. pretty significant advantage goes to the truck.

I don't know where you got 13.3 lbs per HP for the Ram. Inaccurate...

Anyway, HP serves more purpose.... Torque/weight ratio really doesn't mean much. The torque is what gave the Ram the better start, but in the end, the Civic's lbs/hp ratio was better.

In saying all this, the Ram is way too heavy to compete. It doesn't matter if it had the HEMI. It's a truck, built for towing, payload and offroading........ not racing.

In short, unless it was an SRT-10, Lightning or an SS, it's not saying much.

yeah, and ive seen quite a few places on the net stating them into the 14s. and the only reason I would be happy about beating them, is because dodge is making such a huge deal about reintroducing the Hemi to the market. and Honda and Toyota have been using that design for years. dodge thinks that the hemi is such a great inovation, but my buddies Tundra TRD could run circles around the big Hemi. that Hemi displaces just shy of 5.7L, and that Tundra had 4.7. so obviously that truck isnt quite what dodge has made it out to be.

is your buddy's tundra stock? ive not seen a stock truck other than a srt10 ram or a lightning find a 14 without help...my brothers ram is bone stock, with factory 17s...and spun coming off the line...

i am not so much a fan of the 5.7 hemi...dont get me wrong, his truck will stomp my old 5.9...but id rather have the 6.1 SRT motor, which is a whole different story.
