a couple of weeks ago i was comming back from going to lunch with my mom. So i was wearing a skirt and a cute shirt, nothing club-ish just dressy. So i stop at a sheetz to get gas, as i am getting out of my car a see an integra come flying up on my ass. He stops with about 3 inches before he would have been kissing my bumper. So i just give him a look and go about pumping my gas. So he gets out of his car and walks around mine looking it and me up and down. Then he has the balls to say, "so sweetie, is this a 5 speed or don't you know how to handle a stick?" My reply was, " were you takling to me?"
I was tyring to avoid confrontation and not be a bitch to him. so he said " yeah i thought so, i've never seen a bitch in a skirt that can drive a stick" I'd had my fill of his BS, so i said, actually it is a 5 speed and my wearing a skirt has nothing to do with my driving ability.
(to all the girls on HCF, you know how hard it is shifting in a skirt and heels?!) After i paid and came outside he tried to "beat me off the line" at the light. The only thing he overlooked is the radar that they had set up a 1/2 mile down the road. Ahh boys and their cars.
So is it only a guy thing? i've met girls with nice cars and they wer nice about it? why are some car guys such assholes?

My girls 94 Si is 5-speed. She is now looking for a new car and wont even look at autos

yeah barb, that guy was a punka$$ who didnt have the brass too approach you and talk to you in a civil manner, so he acted like that instead...he probably spends alot of nights alone...

wow, absolute stupidity. sorry this had to happen to you. think of it as one of life's lessons, alot of guys do not drive with their brains, and apparently, they do not modify or tune their cars with much either (see captain ice age in above thread). you should have kicked his ass

Hey, its not a guy thing. I always give women a thumbs up after a race and I dont go easy on them =P I would probably have given you props for driving a modded car, like I do other women. I can really respect someone who breaks the mold of "women arent supposed to race"

I've had a few guys compliment me on my car and being able to drive it. My only thing is if your car's stock don't start talking $hit to someone who's car is all mod.

Yeah, there's definately a point where it gets odd. My girlfriend knows how a car works, what makes it work and why it works the way it does. She is also into modifying both of our cars. She kind of started out by just asking me questions about it. I would be working on something and she would ask why and what does it do. It works out pretty good. And I even have company in the garage:D

My g/f knows how things work, what they do, and is starting to get into modifying. She doesnt know how to actually do the work though. Its attractive to me when a girl is modifying a car. When she starts TUNING a car, thats another matter. People get very opinionated when they start tuning cars. I dont think I could have a g/f like that unless she was into my car, b/c we would probably argue all the time.

Are you kidding? That would be perfect. You could install it for her, buy her guages or something, hell, you could get her new tires for her anniversary or something, and she would love you for it. That would be perfect to me. Not to mention the little "extra" bonuses from keeping her so happy =)
