So ive been nagging my parents about letting me get a project car. Obviously it will be a civic there is no other choice in my mind, and due to lack of space on the side of my house where itll be kept. I want a civic perferably a hatch (but doesn't have to be) and my goal is somewhere in the middle of 300-400 hp. I plan on a full build with medium boost. Some one tell me which path to go whether its B18 or H22. But what would be the cheapest start and would be able to reach my goal. The reason im doing this is because I love power obviously and because I want to prove that I can build a civic to be faster than my dads 03 Lexus SC430 with 300 hp. Also I want a fast track car that can be used on the street as well. Thanks for the help guys. I will keep you posted on whether the build goes through.
John

Well older civics are lighter and lots of aftermarket parts, but dont go too old cause the body will have wear and tear

200 horse would take your dads lexus. ive heard nice numbers coming from a b20 with boost and holding up well. b20s, since ive never boosted anything from what ive heard do well with boost. read on other fourms with the b20 you can make your civic an awd but idk somes like alot of money.
