so essentially the ONLY choice is the edelbrock kit.  Can you give me anything on how you like yours gsumano?

I like it alot. It all the parts are top notch and it comes with everything you need. It's fuel management ("turbo link " piggyback) comes with a pretty good reliable basemap that is already pretune to 11psi, so with a boost controller you can safely raise the stock boost level from 7psi to 10-11psi, putting you around 200whp. Best of all if you live in CA, it's CARB legal and it should pass the smog check test unlike the greddy kit.

Wow the boost controller thing is pretty cool.

Do you have a boost controller or turbo timer?

Right now, i just have an greddy turbo timer which i don't even used. I also have a manual boost controller which the guy i bought my kit gave me, but i just don't trust the manual one's to be as reliable. So, I plan on buying an electronic one in the future.

Cool, any other informatino on your kit would be appreciated, but thanks for all the help.  It comes with a boost gauge right?  So you could back off if you had any issues with your boost controller

I did notice on the obituary for aftermarket parts website that you can put an HKS turbo legally on a B18C motor in California

Actually, based on what you posted, EJ8_Man, this executive order gives exemption to D16s:

quote:

The following Honda engine families have been certified to Low Emission Vehicle (LEV) or more stringent emission standards and are excluded from this Executive Order: 1996 model-year, THN1.6VJG3EK, 1997 model-year, VHN1.6VJG3EK, 1998 model-year, WHNXV01.6CA3, WHNXV01.6KA4, 1999 model-year, XHNXV01.6CA3, XHNXV01.6TA3, XHNXV01.6KA4, and 2000 model-year, YHNXV01.6CA3, YHNXV01.6TA3.

Specifically, the D16s with the engine model
THN1.6VJG3EK, VHN1.6VJG3EK, WHNXV01.6CA3, WHNXV01.6KA4, XHNXV01.6CA3, XHNXV01.6TA3, XHNXV01.6KA4, YHNXV01.6CA3, YHNXV01.6TA3

Now there might be other executive orders giving exemption to the other Honda engines.  The B18C may still be legal to turbo, but this document does NOT say that.

EDIT: okay, I'm misunderstanding this Executive Order.  The EO *allows* turbos to be used on any of these cars: 1994 to 2001, Integra GSR,1.8L, 1997 to 2001, Integra Type R, 1.8L 1992 to 2000, Civic, 1.5 & 1.6L 1990 to 2001, Integra, 1.8L, the exception is the 1.6 liter engines listed above.  The reason these 1.6 liters aren't allowed is that they're LEV-certified, so installing a turbo would put them into a different emissions class.  So...you were right EJ8_Man.  Additionally, it looks like any B18 from a 94-2001 integra can take this HKS kit, as well as any D15.

I'm not sure what the 1.6's that are exempt are, so it might be the D16's or the B16's that you can't turbo.  I've never seen those engine models before (like "
THN1.6VJG3EK"), has anyone else seen these?
