You don't HAVE to, but I highly highly suggest a better alternator, you will definitely be straining it, straining your amp, and even losing sound quality

Actually, rarely is it in the best interest to stick with the same company set up throughout your car.
Alpine makes the best head units, doesn't mean they have the best speakers, JL makes great...

a treble adjustment wouldn't solve your problem, you'd need something on it that adjusts your bass
in all honesty though, a good head...
