What purpose does the vacuum line from the wastegate serve? Mine was supposed to be fit onto a vacuum source on my intake manifold when i picked it up from the shop, but it was disconnected. Picked it up at night with my rpm's at 1600, asked the mechanic who said that was normal. Found it disconnected the next day, reconnected it, engine bogged down, then came up to normal idle at 600-700. Would the line being disconnected cause the wastegate to stay closed? Need to know cause the negligent bastards might pay for my engine rebuild.

if the waste gate dosent open... you will blow it up... simple as that..

that line serves as a vacuum/boost source so it can tell the wastegate when to open and for how long

Ha! maybe i shouldn't sue those guys regardless of how much the messed up. My fault i researched so much without paying attention to the fine details that really matter.
