i currently have a 2002 mustang v6 vert... es its fun in the summer but hell it eats gas. i am looking at a 91-01 honda civic hatch or maybe a gsr integra. one of my buddies tells me this would be two of the smartest building cars. i want BOOST! i woiuld eventually like to pull an evo or even an STI. my uestion to you guys is, which ne of these cars, if built right could i do this with, with not having to mod the engone to much (ie. excluding all turbo parts) i want a fast car, and hondas are the way to go. i found a site where i can pick up an engine for a few hundred bucks, which is nice beacuse if i drive with too much boost, i can just get a new motor, if the old one blows. i know this is alot of info to take in but what do you guy think i should do, i have a basic understanding of how turbo works. please let me know. Thanks Bruce

Well how much money are you willing to spend? like a civic hatch, with a gsr(b18) engine, turbo will produce some good numbers. even more if you build the engine. all depends on your price range

i'd suggest a 6th gen civic, 96-00. They have ALOT of aftermarket support and i like them better in general than 92-95 (5th gen). 01+ (7th gen) are hard engines to build and make power on (they are d17's). I suggest reading the stickies at the top of the Nitrous, Supercharger, Turbo section, they all include valuable information about turbocharging a Civic. and like Overurhead said, it has alot to do with your budget, how much expeirence oyu have, the tools/friends you have access too, what the car is going to be used for, etc.

well on just about any stock honda motor the most you'll be able to put down is 350-400 (***** VERY VERY VERY VERY CONCIDERABLE TUNE****) and that is not guaranteed to last that long however i have seen stories of people w/ GSR motors putting 375whp down for 2+ years on stock bottom end with a VERY good tune. my suggestion would be to pick up whatever shelll you want, get a b20 block, b16, b18 or b20 head, turbo it, tune it to about 300whp and you will be wasting 450whp EVO's and STI's all day long. saw a vid of a 302whp GSR Turbo Integra pulling about 3-4 cars on a 420whp KB SC Cobra with no problem. weight is how honda's do the damage.

Yeah, with 7-10 grand. you can get a pretty damn nice civic hatch. I wish i had 7-10 grand to toy with. there is so much to learn about turboing civics, I'm about 2 months into research and there is still soooooo much i don't understand. but the search button is still my best friend. lol.

I started out w/ my Mitsu Eclipse and loved it but it was just soooo slow (99 GS). let me tell you this. DOO YOUR RESEARCH before you just jump into what sounds liek a good deal at the time. i bought my eclipse just because i wanted one. within 3 months i was kicking myself for not just waiting and getting a gs-t/gsx. another thing i loved about the mitsu's is they are very simple.. there are basically only 4 engines that i ever dealth with.. 420a, 4g63 (dsm), 4g64 and 4g63 (evo). and once i jumped into the honda world... man i almost didn't even want to because it can get so intricate with parts. but i do like the fact that almost anything on honda's is interchangable.
