Just got my clutch a couple of weeks ago.  Its a custom clutch, but its very comparable to an ACT.  2000lb pressure plate, 4puck, sprung.  You can get a clutch with a spring or unsprung.  Sprung is more forgiving, whereas unsprung pops in hard.  The 4 puck was a little difficult at first but i'm happy with it now because it grabs nicely and isn't too difficult to drive.  I was under the impression that the stage doesnt matter, but the tolerance of the pressure plate.  Is that incorrect?  Also I had to replace my 10 year old clutch slave cylinder because the pressure plate was pushing back fluid.  I don't know if that was a fluke or if you'll have to replace yours as well.

technically, no.   but different 'stages' from different companies are capable of handeling different powers and it also changes for different makes and moels.   so if they say an ACT stage 2 for a DSM... they are pretty much talking about a ACT 2600 (from their series of 2300, 2600, and 2900) which will hold apx 400hp.
so, no, the stage doesn't matter, but if you know the companies and each power rating for each of their 'stages' than you can identify how much power they will be able to hold.
