if your doing 180 you are probally racing, and if you are racing they have laws for that. They already have laws for speeding, racing, etc.

Someone going 180 is already going to be convicted for wreckless endangerment and other related things which with enough effort can be totalled to a very large sum/sentence.  On  a good day normal traffic on I95 does 85 and I dare you try to go 55 there, you'll get run over by a truck and I'm more than perfectly fine with that.  I'd also be fine if that law excluded highways.  I absolutely hate people doing 30 over in a residential street, but give me a friggin break, 80 is the normal commuter speed these days.

I agree its true. Doing 80 is not a really that bad. But doing 180, you are already endanger of getting a reckless driving, and that is ONE OF THE MAIN reason why people can lose their license. You don't need that ten year prison law for it to play in affect on a person driving 180mph.

you should take some law classes and then you will understand what I'm talking about you. Don't be so quick to think that all the laws that our government pass are for the best

BTW for the those who do not know, this bill has been passed by the florida representatives BUT has not been turned into a law yet. So the discussion here is whether this type of law is unfair and cruel, or violating our rights or justified. Remember on top of 10 years in prison, they can confiscate your vehicle.

i know more about law then most  dad is a lawyer so yea i do k thx

and instead of bitching about it on a car forum perhaps you would be better off filing a petition for getting it in the process of being changed....but nobody will sign it.....but im sure if its your first offence you automatically going to jail cause that would just be impractical

where is all this reference to people doing 80 on the highway.  I thought it was for doing 30 over? 80 mph is NOT 30 mph over a highway speedlimit.
