It will say in the manual but if you don't have it then just snugg the bolts up enough so that they don't come loose. I was going to use a torque wrench on mine but I couldnt fit my wrench on the fill bolt.

I think torque specs for the trans drain plug is 36FtLbs. Use Honda OEM ATF-Z1 fluid only!!! costs about $6/qt. qts# needed 10-12 1. Bring the engine to operating temperature 2. You take out the drain plug (located on the pass (RH)side towards the frt bumper using a 3/8" ratchet) and approx. 2.5-3qts. will drain out 3. Put the plug back in. Add 2.5-3 quarts (whatever gets you to the full mark). 4. Start up the engine and shift through all of the gears twice. 5. Shut it off, and drain again. Add 2.5-3qts (whatever gets you to the full mark), 6. Start the car and shift through all the gears twice. 7. Shut off the car, drain again and fill with 2.5-3qts. (whatever gets you to the full mark). 8. Start the car and shift through all of the gears twice. 9. Drain again and fill again with 2.5-3 qts. (whatever gets you to the full mark). Now you are done! And good for another 100k miles :o) This method will have replaced virtually all of your fluid. This is what the Honda dealer will do and they will charge one hr labor - ($70-100 depending on the dealer) plus the fluid. DIY and save!

You can also use 10w-30 motor oil. Says so in the haynes manual. I used it and it works great. EDIT: it has to be real dinosaur oil though, no synthetic crud.

Wow I have not seen a diy that has been that incorrect in awhile.
