Currently my car has 135k miles on it. Basically stock except a SRI. I will be getting a magnaflow exhaust and a high flow cat for sure. I am almost positive towards the end of the year I'll be doing a B16 swap, everywhere I go they say they average anywhere from 30k-60k miles. I plan on keeping this car for a while.

This is my only car and I drive it about 200-250 miles a week. I would like to get a turbo, but is it worth it if I drive that much? I want everything to last. Basically I want to be able to run it gently to work but have that extra power everywhere else if I ever "needed" it. I know I'll have to get rid of my SRI, not a problem, but need pointers for this possible setup.

As for power, 250-300hp sounds nice. I don't want to have to do a lot of expensive internal upgrades as soon as I get it. Would stock b16 be able to handle this? Would I need to upgrade if I got a ported head/turbo? I just have a thing where I feel I need my car to be able to "breathe" the best, so I was looking at a larger throttle body/ported head

thoughts, recommendations?....

i know there's a ton of topics like this, I'm sorry

whats up bro, i have a buddy who has a turboed b16. it dynoes at 313 to the wheels so about 330 to the crank....sorry to say this but he has a built motor...i dont think a reglar b16 can hold that much...i would say with stock internals you can get to about 240...thats with an amazing tune...save your money and go with the b18...you'll be able to crank out more with that

I noticed the JDM version of the b16a2 puts out 170 at the crank, while the USDM version puts out 160. Could I get the JDM engine instead with no problem and have it go right it just like the USDM b16?
