Default P06 to P28?

I have a vtec d15b but the previous owner had the P06 chipped with uberdata and tuned liek that. I don't think he converted it because I don't notice my vtec (maybe I just cant notice it because of my turbo?) but I want to make sure before I get my tune this summer I get a vtec ECU. My question is if I buy the kit to convert it from P06 to P28 can I use the same chip I have now?
Because I was thinking of buying a Chipped P28 but they only come with Chrome off of Phearable and my tuner only works with Uberdata or Hondata. What would you reccomend doing?

Just convert your p06 to a p28 and get a new tuned. Also, you can hardly hear or feel the vtec engaging on a d series engine.

So once it is converted to P28 I will still have the same chip and I can just get it re-tuned?
