Does anyone know where to get a double din dash kit for an 05 civic? I asked crutchfield and they said they don't know about it. I saw this pic on car domain of one done. Is it a custom thing?

If it is a custom thing it is not that hard to accomplish. Simple cutting and sanding of the middle bar (if the kit you purchase has the middle bar). Most kits that I have seen just have a removable tray on the bottom.
What you will have to watch out for is depth of your setup.
Obviously, you can only go so deep with a double din setup.

Yea well when I called crutchfield they said that a double din won't even fit in there but obviously this guy got one in there. Could the actual slot on the car be only single and then he had that cut or what?

My friend installed his double din by simply removing the tray that was located on the lower portion of the fit kit.
As I said before, sizing is everything.
Check the dimensions on the equipment you are looking at.
It will tell you what size the face it. Take those measurments and compare them to the face of the kit and see it if will fit.
It's just as easy as that.

I love this. I realize your car is an 05, but it's still funny as hell.
